Kids with Brooms

Mama was the helper at preschool this past Monday. The theme of the week was Nunavut. We learned about some fascinating traditions, read some great books, and even participated in the "Nunavut Olympics" during gym time. Our girls got to experience curling, and our 4-year old actually got her stone in the target area, not once but twice! The sweepers were adorable, and often pushed the stone to the target when it would have missed by a mile!

Safety Month at Preschool

You know your kids are learning something at their preschool when they come home and tell you about 9-1-1, and the police and firefighters. In addition to making stop signs and police hats, last week the girls visited a nearby fire station.

Back to School with Jungle Gym

In order to better welcome the kids back to school, my six-year old's school organized a "jungle gym" activity. On Monday, the gym was set up with mats, climbing walls, Tarzan-like swings, and rope bridges. The children then enjoyed daily sessions in their transformed gym. I was able to volunteer on Tuesday and snap photos of  some very happy kids...I can't remember being that excited to be back in school when I was their age...

Winter Vacation Comes to an End

As the winter break comes to an end, I find myself asking how it went by so quickly. From fun in the snow, to many afternoons spent painting, playing, meeting up with friends and family, and even a few animated films, both on the large and small screen...

Tomorrow evening I will once again be prepping school bags and making lunches, and shuttling them to and from school and a myriad of after-school activities...But for now we will enjoy our last day off...
