A Whirlwind Week

In the last 7 days, the girls attended the end-of-season gala at the local swimming pool, went to Vermont for 4 days, held their very first lemonade stand, and tried ringette for the first time. Here are some photos from the fun-filled week:

Book Club Ends With a Party

The local library's summer book club ended with a kids party. Each child received a certificate, a book, and a chance to win one of many prizes. Our 8-year old won a gift certificate at a local french bookstore. The other two asked why they hadn't won. I tried to explain the concept of a raffle without much success.

Next up, "Kattam et ses Tam-tams" put on a spectacular show for the kids. This very talented artist played music, sang and danced about Africa, India, and the Middle-east. The children were amazed. A few got up on stage, and our 5-year old volunteered. But once she got up, she refused to speak into the microphone, which made for a very cute moment...

Here are a few photos from the sun-filled afternoon:

Our Youngest Turns Five!

And Just like that, she turned 5! Our 5-year old got to be an honorary fire-fighter for the afternoon. Along with a few friends, she rode in a firetruck, ran an obstacle course and had a whole lot of fun:

Shopping With The Kids

As a rule, I try not to go shopping with the kids. Inevitably, I break this rule during the summer. With no school nor camps, I am left with little choice. I end up buying things I would not usually buy were I on my own. Take for example a recent trip to the local Walmart. In addition to picking up a few bags of groceries, we ended up with a mermaid-doll for my almost 5-year old and some doll accessories for the older girls. Later on that day, they put their purchases to good use, and this is the cute sight that awaited me:
