We were able to squeeze in a last minute trip to Quebec City prior to the start to the school year. The first three days were extremely hot, but the girls managed to have a great trip. We saw the Chateau Frontenac up close, took a ferry to Levis, and on the last day walked along the Promenade des Gouverneurs and the Plains of Abraham. We found a very nice splash pad to cool off in Levis, rode a Ferris wheel, swam daily in the hotel pool and even explored the Museum of Civilization:

The Synchro Girls
With ever-changing rules and new variants, the synchro team was not expecting an end-of-summer completion. But so it was that last week, our girls performed with waterproof make-up, to music, without their goggles, and with 5 judges scoring them. They seemed to throughly enjoy their first “artistic-swimming” foray. Here are a few photos:
For their efforts, they won “best overall synchro” at the awards ceremony of their local pool:

Birthday Girl
How did our youngest just turn 8? How did the years fly by?!
We had several festivities last week, including a pool party and a flamingo-themed family dinner, and a special dinner with Grandma and auntie. Here are a few photos:

First Swim Meet
Finally the first unofficial swim meet in over 1.5 years took place last Wednesday evening at a neighbourhood pool. With COVID restrictions slightly relaxed, our pool was able to compete against another pool! It was a great atmosphere, and everyone was a winner! Here are some photos:
