The Mother's Day Play

My 6 year-old performed in a kindergarten production a few days ago. Parents and siblings were invited on Thursday evening, and all had a good time. There were 4 plays in their abbreviated versions: Goldilocks, The Little Red Hen, The Three Little Pigs, and Jack and the Bean stock.  Our daughter helped out with the Little Red Hen, and starred in Jack and the Bean Stock. The teacher had wanted to offer her another role, but she insisted on having the same role as her sister did 2 years previously: she was Jack's mom.

Following the play, the kids lined up and sang some touching Mother's Day songs. We were then gifted hand-made items from our children. Here are some photos of the magical evening:

Mama Receives a Letter From Her 6-year old

Last week, I received a cute letter form my 6-year old. With the help of her 8-year old sister, she wrote me the following message:

"Mama, I love you, but please stop giving me kisses at school. "

It was both funny and heart-breaking. Funny because kisses was misspelled, and heart-breaking because I realized that my little girl was growing up. Just last year she would shower me with hugs and kisses at preschool, and in fact was often reluctant to let me go...

Our Four-Year-Old Visits Kindergarten.

This week was a very short school week. Not only was Friday a pedagogical day so that the future kindergarteners could visit their future classrooms and their parents could attend an information meeting, but school was cancelled on Monday. Due to bad weather, in the middle of April!!!

Here she is, in her future school:

Best Cousins

According to our four-year-old, she has a "best" cousin. Not only have they attended the same pre-school since age 2, they have frequent playdates, and swim together twice a week. They even got puppies on the same day, puppies who happen to be brothers:

The Girls do Great Wolf Lodge

With 5 days off over Easter, we had plenty of time to visit with relatives in Cambridge Ontario, make slime, hunt for eggs, and hang out with Grandpa:

On Monday, we headed over to Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls and had all sorts of fun:

Cycle One Musical Presentation

Students from grade 1 and 2 performed their musical show on Thursday evening. They sang songs, both in english and french. There were also plenty of actors and actresses and even a solo singing performance. Our 8-year old did not try out for an acting part, but sung well and was quite animated. The theme was snowflakes and their individuality! Thankfully in reality they are starting to disappear and spring is upon us...
