I had apparently promised her a scooter if she passed Gold, the highest swimming level on the Olympic Way swimming program. I suppose that I wasn’t expecting our 9-year old to pass the level, but last week, she did just that. Here she is, proud owner of her first scooter:
I was initially concerned when I found out that our 11 year old wanted to compete in a 1km open water race. In the end, the swimmers were well-monitored. They had 2 wrist bands each and several swim monitors and a boat close by. Here are a few photos:

Despite living in the Montreal area, we had never been to Parc Jean Drapeau, the third largest park in Montreal, and the site of Expo 67. However, when we found out that there would be a swim meet at the Aquatic Complex on Isle Sainte-Hélène, we decided to sign up. And so it was that a few days ago, we drove the older two girls over a bridge and to this beautiful parc. Here are a few photos from the event:
