Although her siblings had been many times, S3 recently had her first taste of a sprinkler park. Our local summer pool won't be open of another few weeks, so our options for cooling off in the hot sun are limited: Hosing off in the back yard had been an option until our lawn boys did something they call "top dressing". Although I had almost forgotten about the nearby sprinkler park after the long, cold winter, the memory retuned with the warmer weather...
The Baby lasted the longest in the refreshing (freezing cold) sprinklers...The older girls opted to swing and slide after only a few minutes. Too bad the Baby failed to tell me about the poop in her swim diaper. As I tried to remove her swim clothes once she indicated she had had enough of the sprinklers, Mama got an unpleasant surprise all over her hands, pants, and the ground...thank goodness for the cool running water...

Soccer Season Begins
The soccer season almost didn't begin for S1, as her team had no head coach, and thus no practice field and no games scheduled. Finally, S1's brave aunt volunteered. My 5th Mother's Day
My 5th Mother's day was the best yet. Starting at midnight, I did not have to worry about the kids waking up in the middle of the night. Because my dear husband worried about that. I was working that day, so I did not have to worry about meal preparation either. When I got home from work 9 hours later, the house was spotless. A bouquet of fresh flowers adorned the kitchen table, joining the two hand-made bouquets my older children had made in preschool a few days prior.
Upon my arrival home, I was told I had ten minutes to get ready, as we were heading out to a restaurant for dinner. While the kids were not perfectly behaved at the restaurant, the meal was delicious, and the service efficient.
Did I mention that I also received an Apple Watch for mother's day? A gold star for my husband!

First Tennis Lesson
S1 enjoyed her very first tennis lesson this week. She listened to her instructor for the most part, and her form impressed me. Her younger sisters and I watched from the adjacent park. Later on that evening, she drew a picture of a girl playing tennis. "This is a famous tennis player" she proudly said. I wasn't even sure that she knew what famous meant...

May Flowers and Old Friends
With the chilly April weather behind us, the girls have been spending a lot more time outdoors. The May flowers will soon be blooming, but more importantly the girls have reconnected with their neighbours after a long winter indoors...
