Our youngest had to prepare a video presentation this last week for school. She had to choose a healthy recipe and go over the steps. And be creative. Here she is, our little chef, showing her classmates how to make banana-oat-chocolat chip cookies:

From Sand to Snow
Over the recent long weekend, we strolled to a nearby beachside park. The girls enjoyed skipping stones and playing in the park. Little did they know that the very next day would bring a snow storm…in spring!

Swimming @ Olympic Stadium
The same week that she studied about the Olympic Stadium in history class, our 12 year-old got to visit not once, but three times. A 2-day, 3-session swim meet for 11 & up was held there last weekend. Here is the one and only photo of our little swimmer:

# 3 Gets A Big Girl Room
Finally, our youngest receive a bedroom update: Instead of 200 stuffies scattered everywhere, they were arranged in neat baskets. With the help of a few new pieces of furniture, her room looks tidy and cute. While we are still missing some new bedside lights, she absolutely loved her « new » room. Here is the end result (no stuffed animals were destroyed in the process):

A Visit To A Rescue Aquarium
A few years ago, the girls watched a film called Dolphin’s Tale, and learned about a real bottle nose dolphin who had been rescued from a crab trap. She ended up losing her tail and requiring a prosthesis. This dolphin lived for 16 years at a marine aquarium in Clearwater, dying only a few months ago. While the girls didn’t get to meet Winter the dolphin, we spent an entire day at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and met some other rescued animals. While some of the animals were rehabbing, others were permanent residents and could not be retuned to the wild for a variety of reasons (e.g. hearing loss or loss of echolocation). Here are a few photos from their special day at the CMA:
